Addition Polymerization

It is a reaction that forms a polymer compound while opening a double bond of a monomer to form a new single bond.
When the monomers are bonded to one another, no other small molecules are produced other than the polymer.
It is a reaction that occurs mainly when making plastics in the modern chemical industry.

Usage Monomer Polymer
Polyethylene (PE) Food packaging wraps, bottles, packaging materials, electrical insulators
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) Artificial leather, vinyl records, packaging materials, pipes, electrical insulators, flooring materials
Polyvinyl acetate (PVA) Adhesives, paints
Polypropylene (PP) Bottle, container
Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fiber
Polystyrene (PS) Household goods, toys, electrical insulators, radio, television cases, packaging materials
