Epeirogenic movement

Epeirogenic movement(Epeirogeny)

It is a phenomenon that the crust is slowly rising or sinking over a wide range.

The crust is floating on a dense mantle and forms an equilibrium of force. Therefore, if the higher part of the crust is eroded and lighter, the area will rise. Conversely, when sediment accumulates on crust and becomes heavy, it sinks.
