Potentiometer
The potentiometer is an electronic component that allows you to adjust the resistance value freely. The potentiometer is used to adjust the volume of sound in audio equipment and so on.
How is the structure of the potentiometer?
There is a resistor resembling the letter ‘C.’ The brush from the rotor is touching the resistor. Turning the knob sweeps the surface of the resistor as the brush moves. There are three terminals. The middle terminal is connected to the rotor brush. Both terminals are connected to both ends of the resistor.
Use of potentiometer
If we apply the full voltage to both end terminals of the variable resistor, we can get the partial voltage by adjusting the variable resistance.
