The standing wave of the drum
In a standing wave, the position of the vibration node or antinode does not move.
Since the drum has a fixed edge, the edge becomes the node of vibration. The sound varies depending on the drum material and width. The larger and heavier the membrane, the lower the frequency.
If you sprinkle the powder on the drum and vibrate, you can check the appearance of a standing wave. The dust gathers at the nodes of the vibration.
